The government has by its draft bill of finance for 2018 acted the death of the famous wealth tax which is replaced by the tax on the real estate fortune. Real estate assets with a value of more than 1.3 million euros will be taxed from 0.5% to 1.5%. The 30% reduction on the value of the principal residence is maintained. On the other hand, securities such as shares are no longer subject to the wealth tax and the ISF-PME is eliminated. As for the professional real estate, it is not concerned by this tax.
